Project Overview

Our customer contacted us to maximise the enjoyment of their backyard, underneath their existing pergola. 

The project included:

• Back area to be cleared of pavers, trees & raised garden bed prior to work commencing.

• Excavation & disposal of paving base material, synthetic turf base material, & excess soil from back yard.

• Excavation of sub-grade for concrete installation.

• Extension of stormwater pickup from under pergola to western side of concrete slab.

• Extension of stormwater pipe from original strip drain location to western side of concrete slab.

• Installation of stormwater pickups on to extended pipes

• Stormwater pickups to be covered with Geotextile fabric on Western side of slab & narrow beds filled with Quartz gravel

• Supply, spread & compact Rubble base material.

• Place plastic, mesh chairs & double reinforcing mesh SL82.

• Traffic control organisation to allow access for concrete & pump trucks.

• Concrete homing and application of 2 coats of sealant

• Install Besser Blocks into Raised Bed to create base for fish pond installation.

• Installation of fish pond to raised bed & re-enforced placement with construction adhesive.

• Raised bed with filled with Organic Loam.

The Work

• Excavation and preparation - the site needed to be leveled and cleared of pre-existing pavers, garden beds and trees
  
  
• Concrete installation and honing - to create a beautiful, flat surface, the site was excavated for fresh concrete installation and honing
  
  
• Landscaping - Our team removed existing trees and garden beds to make way for the new raised garden beds and fish pond

The Result

The customer will be able to use their backyard for more quality time as a family, with an updated entertainment area for hosting. The new fish pond and garden beds also set the customer of for more quiet enjoyment of their backyard each day.
