Wall removal and open-plan living

Removing a wall is one of the most effective ways to open up an older home. We remove both non-structural and structural walls to create open-plan kitchen, living and dining areas, then patch, finish and paint so the space is ready to use.

Load-bearing wall removal

A load-bearing wall holds up part of your roof or upper floor, so it can't simply be knocked out. Before removing one, we arrange an engineer's design for a new beam and supports, organise any approvals required, and install the new structure safely before the wall comes out.

Windows, doors and openings

We relocate doors and openings, close in old doorways and serveries, and replace windows with aluminium or powder-coated frames, PVC double glazing, timber windows and bi-folds, including custom-made heritage timber windows.

Termite and white ant damage repairs

White ants can quietly eat through wall frames, floor joists, roof timbers, skirtings and door frames. Once a licensed pest controller has treated the termites, we assess the damage, replace or reinforce the affected timber, and restore the plaster, floors and paintwork so your home is sound again.

Do I need council approval for a home extension?

Most extensions and structural alterations in South Australia need development approval. We manage the approval process as part of your project, so you don't have to deal with council on your own.

Can you remove a load-bearing wall?

Yes. We arrange an engineer's design for the replacement beam and supports, take care of any approval needed, and complete the structural work, patching and painting.

How do I know if a wall is load-bearing?

Walls that support an upper floor, sit near the centre of the house or run across the ceiling joists are often load-bearing. The only way to be sure is to have it checked, which we do when we quote your project.

Do you do small alterations as well as large extensions?

Yes. No job is too big or too small, from closing in a doorway or adding an ensuite to a large double-storey extension.

Can you repair termite damage?

Yes. We repair white ant damage to wall frames, floors, roof timbers, skirtings and door frames, then restore the finishes. We recommend having a licensed pest controller treat the termites first, and we can work alongside them.
