Bradley Trade Services is excited to showcase one of our latest residential projects, a stunning verandah and deck to maximise family time outdoors.

Project Overview

Our customer contacted us to create and design a beautiful backyard area, to spend more time outdoors with friends and family. Surrounded by stunning gumtrees and hills as a backdrop, the Bradley Trade Services team sought to create a space to blend in with the beautiful views. 

Chatting to our team, the customer chose to install a Stratco verandah with Ekodeck decking to create their dream outdoor space.

The project included:

•    Excavating the earth around the house
•    Constructing a ramp for easier machinery access
•    Obtaining council approval for planning, development and building, due to the size of the deck
•    Building of retaining walls to retain area for pergola and deck
•    Installation of Stratco Outback Cooldek Patio 
•    Installation of Ekodeck
•    Installation of downlights, heaters and fans under the pergola

The Work

Our experienced team managed the total transformation of the space. 

Key phases of the project included:

• Retaining walls: To safely retain enough area to build the verandah and deck on, two retaining walls were built, with an ag drain behind the wall and screenings for  drainage. Lonsdale concrete pillars were also installed for stability.
  
• Planning approval for decking: Initially, the client preferred Merbau decking, but Bradley Trade Services ascertained that the local council would only allow for Ekodeck products.
  
  
• Installation: The decking and patio were installed by our team.
  
  
• Finishing Touches: Lights, fans and heaters were installed under the pergola to maximise the use of the space in all weather conditions. 

The Result

The finished pergola and deck provides a beautiful entertainment area, allowing the family to  create decades of memories together in their own backyard. The Ekodeck blends in beautifully with the surrounding gum trees, and the verandah blends in with the house’s exterior.
